Edmodo is an educational portal designed to assist in classroom planning and management while bringing classrooms online. A free and secure social learning platform for teachers and students. Features- Collaboration between students - students interact in and outside of class using discussion boards, small group settings, messages, etc. Students who would be unlikely to participate in class are far more likely to in this setting, thereby allowing teachers access to data on their capabilities regardless of their shyness or fear of public speaking.
- Formative assessments - the easy access to this platform for quick assessments allows teachers to immediately improve my teaching based on students' needs.
- Extending the classroom environment beyond the school day - students can check on assignments on their smart phones on the way to school, notify the teachers if they are absent. The user interface is friendly and easy to use so students feel comfortable working with it regularly.

Affordances- The platform looks and feels similar to Facebook, as classroom communication is delivered in a forum format.

- Edmodo provides an integrated planning calendar teachers can use to outline classroom events and tasks for the future. The planner has a weekly and monthly view, allowing teachers to create and attach tasks or events online.

Limitations- Students need give their parents the access codes for tracking.
- Difficult for students to upload work from their iPads – it is a multi-step process.
- It is not currently possible to import Quiz questions from an external program; all Quizzes and Quiz questions must be created within Edmodo.
- Once a Student starts a Quiz, it cannot be paused; when the allotted time runs out, the Quiz will no longer be accessible to the Student.
- When a Quiz is assigned to an individual, the Quiz score will not automatically be added to the Progress Page.
