Roundme is a free online VR platform that allows users to upload 360 images to create their own VR tours, which can be eventually viewed on handheld devices or VR headsets. • Capture snapshots of different angles, Define zoom limitations
  • Switch between 360 view and VR headset view

 Affordances
  • Students are able to interact with the subject content to achieve deeper subject expertise via their interaction such as hotspots
  • Collaborative learning can encouraged between students as they would be undertaking the same tour and they may discuss their perspectives thereafter
  • Appropriate insertion of ambient audio may contribute to greater realism in the immersive experience which may lead to better learning outcomes

 Limitations
  • Requires Google Cardboard or VR headsets for Roundme

 Educator Usage

This tool shares many similar features with Google Tour creator, and is a suitable alternative subject to specific requirements. For example, if there is a need for sounds to be placed/played only at specific locations on each scene, and if there is a need to capture screenshots, which is a native function of Roundme. Educators may tap on these specific features for their classroom needs, and perhaps use them creatively to showcase teaching points, which is apparent only at specific viewing angles, or combined with some ambient audio clips.
